Wine Pears

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1,5kg mature pears, peeled, halved
  • 200ml wine vinegar
  • 500ml water
  • 350g sugar
  • 10-15 cloves
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • few allspices
  • pinch of cinnamon

METHOD:

Place the pears in a sour water ( 2l water and 1 tsp citric acid or lemon juice). Place pears in the jars.

Boil the water with vinegar, sugar, cloves and all spice.Pour the hot mixture over the pears in a jar and pasteurise for 15 mins.
